They're not fixed, but they're in a fix. The whole system needs to be taken down and replaced with the old local schools. I'd say go to home schooling, but a large number of parents are too ignorant for that.

Or we need two incomes to survive and know no other way to work it out.

I would love to homeschool my kids, but I am the primary source of income, and my husband is brainwashed and completely unsupportive.

Most people want two incomes, not need them. People are wanting too much nowadays. I lived on a single minimum wage income for three years back when it was only $2.00. I rented an old house for $50 a month and rode a bicycle everywhere. I didn't try to have a big house, car, gadgets, etc. immediately after I moved out of my parents' house. But I did have a plan to gradually move up in the world. First, I got a better job. Then I bought a mobile home. The next step was to buy property to put the home on. And then I was going to build a small house on that property and sell the mobile home. I found another path, but that was my original plan. And it can work for most people, if they are willing to delay the gratification that comes from owning lots of stuff.
