I probably should have checked a map before commenting. It is, what, a couple hundred miles south of the Long Valley Caldera? Not saying it is related to that, but that area and Owens Valley are seismically active. Didn't geologists say that the expected big one would occur on a minor fault and trigger the San Andreas to go? Seismic activity is picking up globally, so there you go. Thanks for setting me straight.
