It's natural to resist something that you believe to be absolute reality. None of us have been to Antarctica, but if we were told it didn't exist, we wouldn't be able to accept it. It could all be faked, with fake satellite images and pictures etc...

Put it this way. If someone believes a lie, then someone tells the believer that have been lied to, the believer gets mad at the person who revealed the lie. Not the liar. It offends the believer to be disputing something they believed to be true. People like us on Voat are the minority that are able to accept new information without cognitive dissonance, and without being offended by the new information. Not all of us, of course. And even with our unique quality, there is still some resistance to the new information.

My first red pill, of accepting that women weren't wonderful, was so painful for me. I had accepted so much bad shit in my life as some kind of obligation to women. Once that obligation dissolved, I woke up to so many more red pills about society and the true nature of different groups of people.
