Same with my older brother. He was 5 years older and went to Scotland when he was 15, came back with some great music, I got my first Kinks 45 when I was 10.

Whenever he was at college I'd "borrow" his records, didn't matter who it was, i listened to everything! It didn't hurt that he had a radio show at his college and always bought me albums for birthdays and Christmas presents.

When i turned 18 the drinking age was 18 so I'd drive to NYC and see any band who was playing at Max's Kansas City or CBGBS, it was 1976, 1977 so I caught some amazing bands as the OG Punk scene started. I'd see crazy shows, like The Police playing to less than 30 people, or the Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, Iggy, those kind of bands and half the audience was bands going to see each other.

It's funny because the punks I still know are Conservative and Pro Trump. I just love music, if it's good the genre doesn't matter.

NYC was a mess but Rudy came along and cleaned it up making it much safer. I remember once waiting at a traffic light while Rudy crossed in front of my car with some security around him. One of my friends bought his Mom an apartment in Trump Towers, it was beautiful!

Good stuff!

You might enjoy the documentary about Rodney Bingenheimer (I hung with him for a few days, maybe I mentioned it), "The Mayor of Sunset Strip."

Talk later!
