Overheard 23 March 2019 at a popular brunch spot in uptown New Orleans:
A number of well-heeled middle-aged gentlemen--and one lady--were out having brunch, speaking loudly as one does when they're starting the mimosas early.
My friend and I at a table or so away couldn't help but overhear the mention of Qanon from the group, which piqued our listening skills. Gentleman 1 then wondered aloud about the President and House Democrats for one being on the same page, urging a complete and total release of the Mueller Report. It just didn't seem right to him.
Gentleman 2, a Louisiana lawyer, couldn't help but laugh when he heard that. He said it had all the trappings of a classic "asking a question but not knowing the answer" trap set up by one party. The Democrats believe the Mueller Report to be one of unverified evidence implicating the President in all sorts of crimes and collusion, just waiting to be used by House Democratic oversight subcommittees.
Gentleman 2 then speculated two things. One, what if the Democrats have been fed misinformation about the Report's contents for the last several months by Mueller and his team? And two, now that both sides, especially Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Warner, and other Dem presidential candidates have clearly stated very strongly that the public needs to see the entire report, what if the Mueller Report is instead loaded with evidence, intelligence, and transcripts of the nefarious plots mentioned by Qanon since 2017?
Gentleman 3, also a smart-looking fellow involved in commerce, laughed and jumped in. He speculated that the 300-page Mueller Report could be comprised of five pages of investigating the President on the Russian collusion hoax and finding nothing, and the other 295 pages stuffed full of hard evidence about Clinton's Uranium 1, the DNC emails stolen by Seth Rich, Podesta ordering a MS-13 hit on Rich, Clinton's trips to Epstein's Lolita island, the terrible conjectures about abused children, media complicity in covering-up everything, Obama's approval of the FISA scheme, Clinton Foundation pay-for-SAP money laundering and espionage, and every other crime that has been alleged by Qanon to have been committed by Deep State operatives over the last 25 years. It couldn't be acted on by Mueller because of his narrow scope, but it is now all out in the open verified by an official DOJ investigation, just waiting for the next move by Trump and AG Barr. And the FBI and US Marshals.
Think of it, Gentleman 1 said, the House Democrats after reading a summary of the incredible disaster heading their way and knowing they strongly insisted upon its full unequivocal release, could hardly then scream to not to release the report. It'd be a clear admission of guilt, he said, because it would eventually be leaked in its entirely. If they were smart, they'd run home, grab their passports and take the next plane from Dulles or BWI Airport to anywhere in South America. It'd be their only hope to avoid prison--or worse.
Whatever conspiracy they had engaged in prior to that release would dissolve in an instant, G2 surmised, as the lawmakers all fled to save themselves. They would leave so many behind, too, to face the music.
It would be a brilliant stroke by the President to rid the nation of its enemies in one master move--and they all insisted on its method, too. The trolling of it all would be world-class, G1 laughed.
Trump might even run unopposed in the 2020 general election, the lady interjected. One of them quipped the Green Party would still field a candidate. There's no convincing Earth mothers of sanity.
The group paid the bill after that exchange and left. I wish they hadn't. It was the most fascinating brunch conversation I've heard in a while.
I'll definitely go back.
