You are doing a great job mate. Try writing it the way you would want to hear it. The way you would like to hear it delivered by someone else from a stage, with a microphone. I write mine in short 4 line stanza's, and rhyme the last word/s of the 2nd and 4th lines. eg

The missile hit him in the chest,

And it made complete the farce.

Because it drove him back a yard or two,

And sat him squarely on his arse.

Laying bruised and badly beaten,

His breath a ragged hiss.

The poor bugger was covered head to toe,

In the paper and the piss.

Good luck friend, keep going, the sillier the better and more smiles on the faces of your listeners.

Expectantly, we scan it all

For signs that the storm nears.

Sharing news and spreading thoughts,

been doing it for years.

And if it takes another year,

through the patience learned I'll know

This time will only be a waste,

if I refuse to grow.

So gather round me, foes and friends.

Please listen to your hearts.

This show's about redeeming us,

And soon enough, it starts.

Edit-(please advise if any part seems off, I am really wanting to figure this out)

I am not graphically creative for memeing but I see value in the brevity of poems to express larger ideas succinctly. It is fun too.

Now That one, is perfect. That one gets your message across. It has flow to it and that basically is your Rhyme and Metre. I really like this one mate. I have written a good few over the last 6 - 7 yrs, and recite a couple if the company is good and the beers are flowing. Brilliant to have a couple of, hmmm, risque ones up your sleeve. They get the older folks laughing and cackling a fair bit. You should be able to find some funny stuff via DDG. If you like 'em, recite 'em. And use them as examples for your own style of writing. Great stuff, I love it when a plan comes together. Stay well.
