I was an impressionable 19 year old in 1994. I was invited by a friend to attend a "detax" seminar in Michigan. A man called Barrie Konicov came into town and told everyone how the US income tax was voluntary. For a fee, he and a friend of his, John Modena (also member of Michigan citizen militia) prepared paperwork for me to file saying that I choose not to volunteer. That promptly got me something like a $500 "frivolous argument penalty" and thus began a very long journey of living on the edges of society. I haven't paid income tax in over 25 years. The only conventional job I've ever held was as a paralegal, and that lasted about two years before the IRS sent a wage garnishment claim and I quit

I've been an expat for going on 15 years now, living in the Philippines. Everything I do is through my Filipina wife's name. Things are quite settled for me now, but in the past it was a tremendous struggle. I considered the US FUBAR until Trump announced his candidacy.

The prospect of moving back to the US and bringing my wife and 3 kids, not having to worry about the IRS and living a life there where I'm excited to pay taxes because the swamp has been drained is extremely exciting. Trump is truly the greatest POTUS ever.
