I'm not a doctor but I did some research on the type of "off-market" drugs that RBG is being given to her to sustain her daily basic functional requirements. As you see it is really dependent o the type and stage of lung cancer that she has. Her history is that she has had several different types of cancer and even they did surgery on the nodules they discovered, it may be that her prognosis is not as robust as the MSM is saying or hoping.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg is being treated by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. article
Depending on the type of cancer that she has, there are median survival rates for each type. See below:
article
Stage 1 Non-Small Cell - The overall 5-year survival rate for stage 1A lung cancer is 49 percent and for 1B is 45 percent.
Stage 2 Non-Small Cell - The overall survival rate with stage 2A lung cancer is 30 percent and for stage 2B lung cancer, 30 percent.
Stage 3A Non-Small Cell - The overall survival rate for stage 3A lung cancer is 14 percent, but this varies widely among different cancers that are classified as stage 3A.
Stage 3B Non-Small Cell - The 5-year survival rate with stage 3B lung cancer is only 5 percent. The median survival time with treatment is 13 months
Stage 4 (Metastatic) Non-Small Cell - The overall 5-year survival rate with stage 4 lung cancer is sadly only 1 percent to 2 percent. The median survival time is about 8 months.
Small Cell Lung Cancer - The overall 5-year survival rate for both stages of small cell lung cancer (limited stage plus extensive stage) is only about 6 percent. Without treatment, the average life expectancy for extensive disease is 2 to 4 months, and with treatment is 6 to 12 months.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is currently running a Clinical Trial using a combination of Etoposide, Cisplatin, and Carboplatin which are standard drugs used to treat small cell lung cancer. Rarely, some non-small cell lung cancers can change and become small cell lung cancers. It could be she is in this trial. article
More than likely she is being treated with new drugs lke Vizimpor. article
These are only suggestions and there might be other courses of treatments that they are employing to keep her alive.

I never understood the meaning of bitter almonds. Can you clarify, please? Is it (I say this intuitively) apricot kernels? Because cyanide is bitter... Just asking and forgive my ignorance.

It's a bit odd as they are apricot kernels but for some reason they're called bitter almonds.. From what I gather there is a cyanide compound in them that only reacts with cancer cells and leaves healthy cells alone. The compound is also found in apple seeds which is why 'professionals' advise not to eat them.. They have a dry bitter taste, not like normal almonds at all.
When I was doing research, I found out that the kernels in the US are baked or cooked so that they're ineffective, surprisingly.. That's assuming they can be found as they're also outlawed, I wonder why..

Ah, so it is, indeed, apricot kernels alias vitamin B17 / amygdalyne. Thank you for telling me. Yes, you wonder why in the US, they are baked. Must be to protect us. You want to bet? Hahahahaha!
