Why that's a good question and thank you for asking it. Not for you but for me, why am I here? What is it about Q that makes it the first thing I check when I get up, and the last I check before I go to bed?

I want to live in a meritocracy. What do you call what we live in now? It's a system, and it works, more or less, but it's a system based on blackmail, fed by pain and suffering. I want to live in a world where evil doesn't stand a chance. Orwell envisioned a world where technology enabled total and complete control by evil masters. What if it's really the opposite? What if the end result of technology is that everybody knows everybody's business and there can be no dark corner for evil to seed in? Where the best way to get ahead is to work hard? The internet has not only allowed us to ferret out evil, but we have all of the knowledge of the world at our fingertips. The world as it is with so many man made wonders and delights is a pale comparison to what it could be. Look at what our forefathers accomplished with what little they had. Now think about what we can do. We have lasers dammit! If we can topple our masters, we will be free. It will be a different world with different rules, a different game. But one that we create together. I can't wait until we get there, and I like contemplating the aftermath to figure what we have to do next. That's where my mind's eye is focused: What about after?
