Remember that libertarians simply postulate that government should stay as far out of peoples lives as possible. It doesn't mean that the libertarians themselves don't harbor personal views on the various issues of life. Some of those personal views will tend toward the conservative, where they will align more with Republican/conservative candidates when no Libertarian is available. Other libertarians harbor more modern liberal views. These will tend to align with traditional Democrat candidates. Since the Dems have gone full leftist, they will lose these folk.

This is true, a big example of this is abortion, Libertarians who are opposed are more likely going to vote Republican whereas Libertarians who support are more likely to vote Democrat if they have to choose a party.

Ok. Yeah well I am a libertarian and I am pro-abortion but against socialism. If I was in US I would vote MAGA now, for the bigger win. But I see what you mean that things can fall into either of the two slots. It also depends on regional / local issues and candidates as well, of course.
