Totally agree. I think a better way of saying how this was trivialized is that people who deliberately lie for nefarious purposes such as stopping a SCOTUS nominee and then the reactions of others (by others i mean society) to that accuser, weakens other accusers who have actually been a victim and may keep them from speaking up.
Whats also interesting is the fact that Dem. Kieth Ellison who assaulted a woman, which there is proof of, the Dem's dont give a shit. And i thought they were to believe all victims....

If they intended to rape her, they could have. Two males working together could have had their "way" with her if they had chosen to do so.

Not a lawyer here, just an average citizen. If you are correct, then – in my opinion – sexual assault laws are too open-ended. As you describe it, forcefully trying to hold hands with a person who does not welcome the advance can potentially be viewed as a sexual assault by the “victim”, potential employers, and/or zealous prosecutors. Sorry, what I heard from Dr. Ford simply does not rise to the level of “serious” assault, let alone sexual assault. REAL crimes are being trivialized!
