The comeback of the reddit authoritarians always seems to be "Don't like it? Make your own." Let's try to get organized to do this.

They won't be satisfied until you have no voice. Where you go they will follow. Why do you think he's even here squatting himself on those subs?

We gotta do what we gotta do. We shouldn't stop bugging the admins about him just because we make alternatives but the community should have someplace to go until the bastard loses his subs; and if that never happens at least we've got the alternatives.

Yes they will always try, it will always be a fight.

Why are we listening to the Reddit authoritarians again?

In this case it dovetails with one of the approaches that we identified for dealing with mod cancer in small private subs.

Personally I think it will work as well as it did on Reddit. I think once the API is finished and the admins have some more time then the community can start coming up with ideas how the power and influence of mods can be curtailed so they don't abuse it like this paid PR guy does.

All power to anyone who tries this though.

I actually didn't mind the "'don't like it? Make your own". It seems that a lot of good subverse have been spawned from that mentality.

I'm not a fan when it is a subverse with 10,000+. We have been trying to grow v/politicalnews for about 9-10 months. At one point there was a moderator posting with a bot that pulled from like 40-50 news sources to give a wide variety of content that users could then vote on, discuss, and/or submit competing content. So from the door we have had as much, if not more content than v/news, yet our numbers are not moving.

I admit, I haven't been doing my share over at v/politicalnews. I've been focused on v/uspolitics for a while. I'll get right on that!

@kevdude - when you get a minute, update this post with the linky to the new subverse (I see you got it on the sidebar already)

I think this is the best course of action for the time being. With how active people on voat are about avoiding corrupt power mods making alternatives is actually a viable option. Especially when you've pretty much done all you can do at this point. Glad you're deciding to promote doing what just needs to be done at this current time; we all know Henry needs to lose his subs it's just not happening right now.

@paxNoctis has started v/gunsreallyarecool

Anytime you see a gun related post on Voat, post a link to the sub in the comments.

It's been a great alternative sub, too, thanks @paxNoctis for the alternative!

10 is more than enough influence for one person to have.
