It is fantastic that we have a site where can speak our minds, but it's important to note that Voat isn't a free speech platform. Censorship still exists on Voat, but the power to censor rests with the users, rather than just moderators and site admins.

That's true in a sense but accounts like Amalek are proof no one can be silenced entirely and the site provides means for people to create subs with restricted downvoats and anonymity as well to bypass even the users ability to censor.

True, but most people aren't as, uh, persistent as Amalek. By that same argument (that one can just keep creating hundreds of accounts), no one can be silenced entirely on Reddit, either.

If a user posts in a forest, and no one's around to read it, does he make a post? Lets not be Reddit. Users with unpopular opinions shouldn't have to post in "free speech zones."
