It's not even deleted yet and Unruly is not a mod.

Even so, the v/news community, not just the mods, has spoken out before that they don't want editorialized titles as it leads to politicizing the news.

"leads to politicizing the news."

Again i ask, "Why the deference to MSM manipulation? Why would you accept those biased and politicized headlines if the issue is "politicizing the news".

You people are just not thinking.

I was taught from a young age not to judge a book by its cover, so I tend to ignore titles anyway and gather up what information I can get from reading the article.

I accept the mainstream titles themselves are manipulating but the community supports the no editorializing rule and I can see their reasoning. If you allow editorialized then you allow a free-for-all that will escalate into turning the news forum into a purely political one. Restricting submissions to actual titles doesn't entirely eliminate that either, as you said, but it goes a long way to keeping that in check.

...and then I looked at your submissions. Oh dear, you are just another imbecile from Reddit.

Or is this just your second account, @PM_ME_YOUR_ARCHES ? Cause what you've had to "contribute" is definitely in the "inane bullshit" category.

You should understand that

1, this wasn't posted by a major PV user or a mod (at most, he seems to be a regular of /v/news )

2, the post he is referring to hasn't been deleted

3, Disappointed has responded by pointing out that fact and reminding OP that he is breaking the rules about editorializing titles

4, Kevdude has responded by directing him to his title-editorializaion-friendly subverse /v/politicalnews

5, OP has already gone crazy, threatening to follow PM_ME_YOUR_ARCHES's comments for simply replying to OP once or twice and commenting on his two posts.

That's all well and good, but why was the post stickied?

major PV user

Are we already heading into the barn to hear the speech about some being more equal than others?

The rules are arbitrary nonsense. My OP was threatened with removal likely based on the content, not the title.

The post is a user complaining that /v/news mods are censoring a user for violation of rule #2.

[Rule 2] Submission Titles: User-editorialized titles are subject to deletion. State only the facts, not opinions or speculation.

Link to /v/news post. As you can see, the post is clearly editorialized and should be removed (bear in mind that the /v/news mods haven't even done anything about the post at all yet. However, for some reason, this post is stickied. Why is this post stickied? /v/ProtectVoat mod @Disappointed echoes this, saying it isn't even deleted yet and he did break the sub rules.

@Kevdude's comment: "You are welcome to editorialize titles all you want at v/politicalnews". This seems pretty normal, PV often tells users to use other subs if they aren't happy with the subs that are being posted about. However, /v/ProtectVoat mods @kevdude and @Crensch both mod /v/politicalnews. The post does break sub rules, hasn't even been deleted yet, one PV mod is saying there's nothing wrong with it, yet the post is stickied and @kevdude is telling people to use his news sub on there instead.

He is telling people to use his own sub and trying to use the nonexistent mod censorship on /v/news as an excuse for people to switch. For a sub that says they're trying to protect free speech on Voat, it seems pretty odd that you would encourage editorializing news articles (bear in mind that this particular /v/news post is a right wing slanted title change).

Herein lies what is actually going on with /v/ProtectVoat, and why there is so much animosity between our sub and theirs. They do not want free speech. Their idea of free speech is a safe place where they can post right wing stuff and ignore everyone elses differing opinions. It is no coincidence that the majority of their users/mods have a right wing bias, and people here tend to lean more to the left. I get labeled as a SJW all the time, and all of us get accused of "defending cancer mods who want to destroy free speech". They are not scared of us destroying free speech, they are scared of losing their echo chamber where only their opinions are allowed and I'm fucking sick of it.

Fuck you all, you're an even bigger circlejerk than this sub is, an actual circlejerk sub.

Fuck yourselves.

If your post is removed, it is probably because you broke the submission rules. You could just delete and repost the correct title and avoid this embarrassment.

Insisting on censorship is a embarrassment to the VOAT community, not my submission. Let me know if you really want me to follow your comments...it is up to you. I won't hold back. Just let me know. Really.

I'm just pointing out the reason your post is being considered for removal, no need to take it so seriously.

I have seen complaints about this rule off and on. The pro-mod trolls always defend v/news and I saw the downvotes hitting so I figured I'd sticky it for a couple of days to have a conversation.

My reply:

@AmyAcker @ForksandGuys @Typo

Which of you dogs are behind this censorship? We have already established that MSM news titles are not sacrosanct and have rejected the notion that we can only use THEIR bias and not our own. Reverse this, you stooges.

That rule has been in place for months. If you don't like a title, you are free to put your own version in a comment.
