Grandfathered in? I could have sworn there was something that actually stopped this from happening now, but it might not have been in place during the Woahverse days.

We had a case last week where a user had 11 but that was a special case. I'm wondering if you might be right because the subs haven't changed at all.

I was testing this last month and figured out how to have 11 for about 10 minutes before I lose the 11th. It basically just kicks you out, but on my 11th, there was no other mods so the YouCanClaimThisSub abandoned sub bot got it - https://i.sli.mg/xXIzxQ.gif

I got a dozen DVs in 20 mins and called out in some anonboard post as srs just for saying that I asked about this limit in the past so I quit trying to find out why it lets me do it and just let it go - https://voat.co/v/whatever/1418500/6851035

As far as I'm aware Janitor is supposed to be included in the 10 sub limit and if its not its a glitch. To get this straight your main concern is to be able to mod more subs as level4/Designer class mod but it wont let you do that right? Currently you have to make an alt to get around it? @fuzzywords can you see any way this is possible with the current setup?

People probably thought you were trying to increase the limit. The admins have had a rough time the last week or so with this bug but we will sort this out eventually.

That account example, u/AssuredlyAThrowAway, I added to my report list recently for PuttitOut to look into this coding glitch. He's not gotten back to me yet but I can come back to this post and let you know when I hear back.

I've sent this to message the mods at v/voatdev as well.

I think the rule should be enforced on a case-by-case basis, not by zero tolerance. The intent of the rule is to prevent what they have on reddit, where 2-3 people have top mod spots on 95% of the most active reddits; additionally to stop someone from overextending themselves and being unable to effectively moderate.

So if someone wants to mod more than ten(or really more than 5) of the top 1000 or so verses, or maybe we could say verses with over a certain number of subscribers, that's violating the intent of the rule and should be handled. If someone is the sole mod on 11 active verses, they're unlikely to be able to do their job fully and that should be handled.

But, if someone wants to make 11 obscure low traffic verses, who cares? If someone has 10 and wants to volunteer for a low level modship on a verse with other mods to share the workload and an accountability structure to keep them in line, who cares? If someone is assigned stylesheet permission(technically a mod assignment) for 20 verses, who cares?

From what Ive seen most agree designer lv4 should be exempt. The other suggestions just leave room for bias and more work for admins.

But they're not even moderating one.
