Today's update contains some fun stuff and some practical stuff. It's not a huge update but it contains some changes that make the website easier to use.
The biggest change in this update is the seasonal themes. When you load a page on pixeldrain the server will check if a season is active and add an additional stylesheet to the webpage. This stylesheet overrides some of the default colors to make them fit with the current time of the year.
As you may have noticed the Halloween theme is active right now!
There is also a Christmas theme, I'm still deciding whether it's a little too much or not.. You'll find out eventually.
Halloween is currently configured from 15 October to 1 November.
And Christmas is configured from 24 December to 28 December.
I'll be adding more styles as time passes, I'm still working on new year's night and easter.
File size counter
In other news, pixeldrain now has an improved file size counter on the file info window (Screenshot). I know it doesn't look great, and it may be redesigned sometime. But the most important part of it is that it provides an easy way to read the size of a file with just the bat of an eye. You see numbers in red? it's megabytes. Numbers in blue? kilobytes. Puke colored numbers? There's your gigabytes. (I should probably change that color soon).
New keyboard shortcuts
There's some new keyboard controls on the file viewer, press i to view them :). I just realized that using the letter c as a keyboard control prevents you from copying stuff.... I'll fix that one very soon. Anyway, the current list of controls reads:
- a or ← = View previous item in list
- d or → = View next item in list
- r = Toggle shuffle (random)
- c = Copy URL of this page
- i = Toggle details window (this window)
- s = Download the file you are currently viewing
- SHIFT + s = Download all the files in the list as a zip archive
Copying a file link now shows "Copied!" on the copy button.
Round corners on files and lists and some other styling changes.
File and list items are now clickable on the whole button instead of just the title.
Some new backgrounds, as usual :)
Better view / download counting.
Uploading from clipboard.
Better file manager with searching and folders.
The return of the PC client (Still playing with Golang and Qt)
