Meh. They 'won' because we were all 'holiday truce?' and they said 'sure!' and then they had a laugh as they made a huge push south to land grab as much territory as possible to force a stalemate because we were SLOWLY but surely winning.
We have talked, in the past. It comes down to the same thing. 'ugh, yeah, sure, we'll stop our nuke program in exchange for less sanctions...psych! Whatcha gonna do, world?!'
Also the same reason a lasting peace hasn't been achieved. They can't be trusted to keep their word.
I'm not going to harp on your Japanese point because you're not wrong, but you're not exactly correct if you get my drift.

Thanks for that input. It just seems nuts to have this stalemate for soooooo many decades.
