I'm not learning to knit. I can crochet a chain - and they're dirty rotten liars when they say, "If you can crochet a chain, you can crochet anything!" Lies! Horrible lies!
If we get 11' of snow, Ol' Buddha's going to do some SERIOUS misbehaving and will absolutely be engaging in risky behavior! Yeah... I'm not sure I could resist the temptation!
I thought about the drive. I gave it serious consideration. EH would want to go and I'd have a hard time saying no - and she's BEHIND on her schoolwork. I know 'cause they send me reports! She has two overdue papers.
We do have something awesome and I kind of want to go visit it - except that's a long drive...
Man... Now I want 11' of snow... The most I ever got, in one storm, was 52" of snow. It was like 2.5 or 3 days of a blizzard that got stuck here with a high pressure system holding it here. It was fucking awesome! It shut the whole area down - which really just means that almost nobody went to work. The grocery store and convenience stores were the only things open and they damned near ran out of alcohol. We had two State plow trucks off the road and the grader they sent to pull it out got stuck trying to make it up the mountains as you come into Rangeley.
It was glorious.
Man...
Now I really want a good snow storm. It was spitting snow a little while ago. I went out and fed the chickens the left overs from last night.
"No, you have responsibilities to fulfill. See ya in a while". There, I've solved that problem.
Maybe the spinning disk would be a good day trip with the missus when she returns.
I do doubt it will snow that much, but there is a "trans-polar artic front" coming through here this weekend and supposed to move up that way later. Of course that's the weather bunnies talking, but you might get something, depending on moisture.

I'm horrible at telling her no. I tell her no about as well as I retire.
She knows this. She knows this all too well. Fortunately, she takes pity on me and doesn't abuse it!
Hmm... She's much closer to Westbrook than I am. It's down near Portland.
Hmm... I'm pondering...
As for the arctic front, we just had some beautifully cold weather. I didn't get to enjoy it much, but I did go outside. It got down to -24° and the wind was gusting at maybe 25 mph. Lemme do some chart checking...
That's a 'feels like' temp of about -55°. Sweet!
I can't really bundle up and use crutches. The layers mean the crutches aren't secure in my armpits. I very, very seldom go outside without crutches, even just to the porch. It's a fall risk. That means I don't really get to enjoy the crisp cold air for very long. (Those temperatures are deadly.)
