LOL Well, if nothing else, there's some great stuff being shared in the thread this week. I am suitably impressed with how it's shaping up. I seem to recall pinging you in one of the earlier threads - and it's taken on a bit of a life of its own since then. It's fantastic to see and hear the goats sharing. It's like one place of tranquility in the maelstrom that is Voat. Nobody takes anything too serious, nobody fights and argues, and we all just make music.

It's a lovely thing, music. I don't know why it's the way it is, but it seems to be universal. I bet every intelligent life form in the universe makes music - assuming such exist.

Yes, I have enjoyed the submissions. There's something really appealing of hearing artists playing for themselves and a few others. No commercial interest or trying too hard to impress. The "soul" of the music seems to be paramount in these cases.

As to your last paragraph, I said the same expression to someone in a reply just a few hours ago:

Personally, I find it great we're talking about a song that's ~90 years old. It's a reason I'm passionate about music, as many others are, as it spans time, cultures, and brings people together. Thanks for your comments.

I love a jam session with people who have no aspirations of performing together as a group and only a small intimate audience. It's one of those times where you can truly just play and play with others with interactions that an audience might not even notice - or appreciate. It's not perfect replication, it's something different.
