So, I gotta ask... What did you think of the album?

That was really nice. I can see why you liked it. Thanks for putting it up. I much prefer these versions over the record versions. I get the impression this is what he wanted to play like when you get the producer and record company out of the way. His vocal range and phrasing are really shown, instead of the more monotone on the records and most live clips I've seen. And keeping the harmonica to a minimum was nice. His harp playing is effective, but definitely not his best talent. I assume he wanted to show a side of his performing in a more critical venue, not being told what will sell more records or a huge crowd wanting to hear his songs just like what's on the records. I will be listening to this quite a few times. Do you happen to know who his backups were?

There's also some video of it, if you search YouTube/HookTube. I've never come across the whole show on video, just a few cuts.

In my opinion, it's his most polished work. I'd say best work but that's a bit more subjective. I think it's his best work. The whole collection speaks to me. It's one of my favorite albums. I've probably ripped it a dozen times, each time forgetting where I'd stored it the last time. I have multiple copies on disk. I might even have it on cassette tape somewhere.
