The Beach Boys recorded their version on September 23, 1965. Fred Fassert wrote this song around 1958, and got the title from the name of this sister. His brother, Charles Fassert, was a member of The Regents, so he gave it to the group. Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean is featured on lead vocals along with Brian Wilson. Torrence is not credited on the album, but Carl Wilson is heard saying "Thanks, Dean" at the song's conclusion.
