I doubt Mexico is going to write a check to directly pay for the wall, but it's not hard to imagine future dealings with Mexico will cover the costs. Ultimately the wall pays for itself because of how much we spend on the people crossing the border illegally.

Absolutely concur. There's an unspoken cost to illegal immigration that the MSM and the left never speak of. Health care and educational costs are enormous ... the cost of the crime induced by the criminal gangs ... the prisons filled and court costs, picked up by us all, brought on by those who are caught and punished. The real numbers would be staggering, if ever known. So for every one sent packing, a huge chunk of change is recouped, even though no one will ever come out and say that ... mere common sense tells you it's true.

The media tried to spin a "we actually get money from them" by taxes and whatnot. Truth is a high number of immigrants are law-breakers. They are there illegaly, you think they pay taxes?

I'd buy it if we altered future deals to directly dispense money into the debts incurred by the wall, but I think it'd be BS to say "well we made that money back because illegal immigrants cost us." Of course they do, but it's not what he campaigned for. That was always an additional benefit. The funding of the wall had to come out of Mexico the country, not a savings to the US taxpayer.

Trump's plan was outlined during the primaries. It has been there for every journalist to see for that entire time. The only reason you didnt see it or hear about it is the corrupt media wont give you the facts.

The plan seems like it might actually work. And if it doesnt it stops money from leaving the country so costs can be recovered either way.

Can someone clearly something to me then? Reason Mexico will build the wall is so we don't impose such a high tariffs on the imports to the US from them. If I'm getting this right, why is this hard to understand. If not, please correct me. Thank you.

More to it than that. The plan calls for shutting down all wire transfers between here and mexico. It is like using mexicos population as leverage against their government. Especially with the rioting over the peso crashing and gas price increases. Without any money being sent to mexican families from people working in the us the unrest will only grow.

Tarrifs are also included, but the main motivator so far as i can tell is preventing civil unrest inside mexicos borders.

They're paying for it in net; a renegotiation of NAFTA, a bit of protectionism, a removal of millions of illegals who work under the table and collectively send billions of dollars home. It adds up to hundreds of times what the wall will cost.

Construction of the wall has to start as soon as possible. And Mexico has to pay for it.

Let me repeat that, one way or another: Mexico will pay for it.

How? We could increase the various border fees we charge. We could increase the fees on temporary visas. We could even impound remittance payments derived from illegal wages. Foreign governments could tell their embassies to start helping, otherwise they risk troubled relations with America.

If necessary we could pay for the wall through a tariff or cut foreign aid to Mexico or simply make it clear to the Mexican government that it is to the benefit of their very profitable--for them--relationship with the United States to pay for it.

But one way or the other they are going to pay for it.

He doesn't have to. Bill and Hillary Clinton green-lit the funds for a Mexican Border wall back during the last Clinton presidency.
