So, prior to the servers being brought down by free speech haters, apparently several DDOS attacks were launched against Voat. Now, I don't have the full picture, but rumor has it that these DDOS attacks came from Reddit, currently under the authority of Pao.
Naturally, we would have to assume that Reddit would deny it, even if it was organized by Reddit staff. (Deflection onto third-party black hats would be their likely excuse.) However, should Reddit or Reddit-affiliated persons be responsible for such attacks, it is my humble opinion that these would constitute a cyberwar. In short, the first commercial cyberwar of its kind: war for freedom of expression on the internet, not to mention freedom of internet traffic.
So, my fellow Voat-Goats, how should this be handled, if indeed it is a cyberwar? (Personally, would love to see some black-on-black hat combat. But I question if Voat possesses the necessary hacker base, at least not yet.)
