With the last round of storms (before and over Memorial Day weekend), it was chaos on the local newscast. They had three to four tornado warnings going on at once in the Tulsa metro and surrounding areas.

I paid $10 to get the RadarScope app on my Android phone. It has high-res radar feeds from NOAA or Weather Decision Technologies (WDT) and you can pinpoint your location on the maps and mark it. It's pretty damn accurate; better than any NEXRAD feeds I've found online so far. I watched a wall cloud pass by about 3 miles south and kept track of the center of rotation with the app. The local news will sometimes go down to street level to show the circulation on radar, but with the app I can just keep an eye on it as it approaches.

I haven't seen these new TV warnings yet, but I do get weather alerts on my phone and you really can't miss it if the phone is nearby. It sounds like the warning tones that go off on the radio when there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning in the area.
