It's always interesting to me to read about some guy who is "saving" people from extremism through 'reason.' Of course, the article doesn't really contain much of that, but the claim itself is striking since all of the evidence honestly points to the left being incapable of handling sustained criticism of metaphysical realities and ideas about rote equality.

The left can perform well in policy debates, though -- for instance: there are good arguments that some of the fiscally conservative policies, even those against things like raising the minimum wage, do not hold as much water as we think. It is also true that inmate reform programs can be successful, and that a lot of the things the conservatives are alarmed about just don't produce as much hard statistics to alarm people as you would think.

... for instance, even though the crime rate of second generation Muslim migrants in Europe is bad, it's still not really totally spiraling out of control and still pales in comparison to African-American crime rates....

But we are talking, at this point, about damage control. I feel like a successful leftist apologist is just a damage control expert who cleverly obfuscates issues of biodeterminism by wringing his hands and talking about how the Irish were once outcasts and we need more information.

...

Is this "Destiny" guy really a heavyweight? I would have to watch him. But, honestly, these 1:1 debates that are not organized can be a poor measure of it, and usually for there to actually be a means of assessing it, you would need them to agree to stay within specific parameters on a very specific topic.

I fear we would need to see something more organized with set time controls to really assess whether or not this guy (or anyone else) is really up to snuff.

... It's funny to think, though, that this guy is perhaps among the best that they got.

Moreover, it's funny to think of people having the gall to pretend that the Golden Age of dissident right advocacy is not happening right now and that there is basically no real answer to a lot of it.

The best that normies have ben able to do is develop means by which they do not get crushed entirely by random dissident right guys during Q & A.
