Francis puts faithful Catholics in a weird spot. The guy is preaching outright heresy, but when questioned he just remains silent which means that he isn't a "formal heretic". In other words, if someone preaches heresy unknowingly, when questioned and given the orthodox Catholic stance, they have a chance to double down and become a Formal Heretic or recant and admit they were mistaken. Francis just keeps silent.

On the other hand, he gives interviews to this Scalfari guy, who never takes notes but instead has a conversation and then reports on it. Scalfari is a militant atheist and like 90 years old, so there's no way to know if what he writes in La Republica is accurate or not... but Francis keeps granting him interviews.

On the other hand, the American Empire is evil and our primary exports are usury and buttsecks... but replacing it with a world government is not only a stupid idea, but flies in the face of subsidiarity, and is not compatible with the Catholic faith which teaches that nations are good and that patriotism is a virtue.

So yeah, Francis is what a bad Pope looks like. The flip side is that God will vomit out of His mouth the lukewarm and purge the Church of evil with the cleansing fire of the Holy Spirit. All of this ties in with the message of Our Lady of Akita, so there is a chastisement coming soon enough. Keep your soul clean and food stocked.

God, I love you man. I'm a fan of your brand of Catholic. Since talking to you, my critique of Catholicism became "It's not Catholic enough" but since Catholicism is by definition whatever the Pope farts out then I guess all us rebellious souls who do good for good's sake will spend eternity BBQing with Satan because we couldn't submit to a heretical pope. God's laws are funny like that, love god the way you're told even if he looks evil because "Fuck you, look at the Leviathan."

Catholicism is by definition whatever the Pope farts out

Not even remotely. We have had heretical Popes before, which is why Catholicism is the deposit of faith known as the Magesterium. The Magesterium is the collection of both Tradition and Scripture (which, by the by, is a product of Sacred Tradition since the Canon wasn't solidified until Trent... and the Orthodox still disagree with each other as to what books are to be used in their Liturgies with the Greek Orthodox not using Revelation at all), including the interpretation of the Scriptures.

Papal Infallibility does not work the way a lot of people think it does. Essentially, the Pope has to 1) make a formal declaration that something he is about to say is infallable, 2) Whatever it is has to be a matter of faith and morals, and 3) The teaching must be in line with the Traditions of the Church. Sacred Tradition includes 2,000 years of thought that all ties together in a truly incredible way, with special deference given toward the Church Fathers of the first 600 years or so (Augustine is seen as the last Father of the Church, I believe). So if the Pope comes out tomorrow and tries to infallably declare vanilla as the best flavor of ice cream, that's just his opinion.

As a side note: Pope Marcellinus was actually an apostate for a while. Under threat of torture, he decided to offer incense to Caesar and thus left the Church. He later publicly repented and did penance and is now sitting in heaven. Not to mention the apostasy of the first Pope.

I love Francis and pray for him every day, especially for the sake of his immortal soul and I respect the office if not the man. He's just a really bad Pope. Not the worst though... he doesn't have any kids from multiple concubines that we know of, unlike some previous Popes (lookin' at you, Alexander VI). On the other hand, the list of amazing Popes far outweighs the bad: Gregory the Great, Leo the Great, Peter, Linus, Clement, Sixtus, Nicholas the Great, and the list goes on and on and on.

And I love you too man. No homo.
