The Luftwaffe was three weeks from destroying British spitfire factories and making Operation Sea Lion an inevitable success, which would have allowed the Germans to organize and form a unified drive against the Soviet Union(a battle that would have been on behalf of the good of humanity).
But, Hitler reacted and expressed his puerile and violent/very destructive urges and decided to bomb British cities. The same mentality that led to genocide caused Hitler to achieve the ends of Fascism and to unify the West under its banner and crush the Soviet Union.
Now we all question the legitimacy and validity of Fascism, when people should have critiqued its application in the case of Nazi Germany, where it was structurally and functionally fine, but ideologically and perceptually speaking was a poor representation of Fascism.
