I can't say I have ever known anyone that had a high opinion of Turks. Even an American Communist of German ancestry I know with family in Germany can't stand them. My ex regarded Turkey as worse than Egypt with the men and their gawking and otherwise predatory behavior. Some of the worst scum may actually be Kurds though. Remember that next time you see someone playing up the Kurdish cause.

Oh, and I had a military relative almost get shot by a Turkish guard at a military base in Turkey.

My own interactions haven't been very positive either. I find them rude and culturally tone deaf.

You know Erdogan says the Kurds are going to be the majority by 2038? Is that a bit of an exaggeration? I don't know the dynamics, did disproportionately more Turks leave for Europe, creating a vacuum? Well, Turkey is undergoing a demographic shift with high Kurdish birthrates and low Turkish birthrates.

Dunno if it's an exaggeration but Turkey could potentially import Turkics from other countries to help head off the demographic crisis. Rest assured Kurds will be looking for payback if they can get it.

None of this is of any particular use to us though. If past is prologue them fighting will just drive more inflow to us.

I frequented a coffee shop that had a few Turks in the US - most were PhD students - usually in physics. They weren't the worst people in the world but like Skyrock said these were not refugee losers.

They were probably western and/or urban Turks if they could hack it in an US STEM course.
