We might have pockets of Spanish speakers forever. We used to have a lot of German speakers though. Not too many of them around anymore.

Well there's a steady stream of Hispanic immigration, there isn't a steady stream of German immigration. Most German culture in America was eradicated after the World Wars. Even if the population of Mexico stabilizes, there's still plenty of Mexicans looking to immigrate to the US.

There has been a good bit of data in recent years indicating more Mexicans are leaving than coming in. The country is also rising economically.

And to get overrun by Spanish it'd have to come mostly from them. The Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico aren't going to turn us Spanish.
