Meanwhile, it is clear Mexican interference had some influence on the vote totals:

I'm not sure what should be done precisely to stop the above but that it's been ignored in favor of this Russia narrative shows how much Democrats control the narrative.

Yeah. I have no problem coming down on them, too. But I think the type of sanctions pursued with a country like Russia are not the same. Mexico is one of our biggest trading partners. So we need to find ways to hurt them without hurting ourselves disproportionately.

Also, Russia is close to being a peer when one looks at the international arean. Mexico is not. Sometimes that means being harder on Mexico for the same infractions. Sometimes it means being harder of Russia. But the two are different calculations. With Mexico the biggest punishment we can give is simply returning all their wayward citizens. (And enacting money transfer protocols making it more difficult for illegals here to expatriate our money.)

It's a lot easier to go after Russia, yes. Less trade. Plus there are far fewer Russians exercising power in our elections. And the press is not interested in highlighting foreign powers that unduly assist Democrats. In a sense Russia is an easy mark. They have a lot less control over us than Mexico does.
