I think being with those who share your culture is what's most important, rather than those who share your race. There is merit to genetic diversity.

I was about to say the same thing. The law of diminishing returns is why marrying your sister is not better than marrying a foreigner.

Yeah, but who puts it in such terms? There is a huge amount of middle area between marrying a close family member and marrying a tribesman from New Guinea. Neither are especially prudent options.
