Think the German experience in America is all about things like Oktoberfest and hamburgers? You would be wrong. The first Marxist journal in the US was started by Joseph Weydemeyer - a German immigrant.
Later, after more Germans came to our fair land the effort to socialize America began in full force. Milwaukee, a bedrock of German impenetration, was the heartland of socialism with the son of German immigrants Emil Seidel being elected the first Socialist Party mayor of a major American city. He also pulled the strings as the running mate for the party's popular presidential ticket.
You may think this villainy bad enough. But these krauts also gave us full blown Communism! Alfred Wegenknecht and C.E. Ruthenberg, two ethnic Germans, were instrumental in bringing the Communist Party USA into being.
So the next time you down that lager or eat that pretzel think twice. It could be a Communist plot.
