The teacher probably can't read cursive. If there is a school policy about cursive, they should produce it. I would be going straight to an attorneys' office. Fuck that stupid teacher that can't read cursive. Fuck that school that employs that teacher.

You're making some pretty inflammatory accusations for having known nothing about the situation

This is a story written about a fucking fb post and nothing else. No speaking with the mother, child, or teacher to learn why the note was there. I wish some shred of journalism still existed today

Maybe, the teacher is still trying to enforce block print letters. Skills should be honed before jumping to the next.

The teacher writing that note is a moron.

The teacher is mixing cursive with her print letters -- hypocrite.

I caught myself many times writing like she does in an educational setting but depending on the age group and skill level would switch to pure print blocks. Digital fonts are a pain in the ass too because of the letter "a" which isn't a print block "a".

For kids? No. Even the Japanese are strict about stroke order.

The teacher is just being a lazy bitch. I've had a lot of kids do the same to me but I'd explain why they needed to do it the way I wanted but yet would also support their fancy of cursive by correcting and helping how to do it properly in their notebook.

One thing to consider too is that the teacher might have students handing back the papers. I preferred calling students by name and commenting on their work. But for some reason if she was having the kids hand back their homework it's just because she's lazy.

I call her lazy because of how and where she wrote that note. Slanted and written like she was leaving herself a note on a post-it.

More dumbing down of America. Just like How Mao Changed the Chinese language so Chinese people won't know their own history.

Student got in trouble for not following instructions. There may be a reason that the teacher wasn't ready to have cusrive yet. Following instructions is a really important lesson in life.

Funny, you'd think a military mom would know the most about just shutting up and following orders from authority figures.

We used to only be allowed to write in the "Marion Richardson style". I remember a girl who had been at another school getting told off for using the wrong style of a. This is why I can't stand teachers, so many of them are just little Hitlers.

From my experience there are two types 1. Who care and try to help everyone or 2. Couldn't control anything in life and is completely anal about everything that goes on in the class room
