A microwave won't do the trick. They rely mostly on the absorption of energy of water molecules to heat the item being microwaved. Now the bedbugs would be susceptible to this but since microwaves typically use a wavelength of 12.2 cm the bedbugs are too small to reliably receive enough energy to kill. (This is why if you put a large object like a frozen pizza in a microwave you'll get spots that cook more quickly and slowly.) For a brief explanation of the science behind this. The sanitary cycle on a dishwasher would be the real kill factor but would be much more likely to damage the stuffed animal.
