I agree with this.

Shouldn't journalism be written so it can be understood by the general populace. Scientific studies are written in very coarse english that the vast majority of people can't understand unless they are in that field of study. However, those studies are for the most part only relevant to that subset, whereas general journalism must be able to be understood by the average person regardless of education. That being said "bad guys" is probably a bit to far in the other direction but better that than indecipherable legal jargon.

The average person can't read scientific papers.
