I took this picture yesterday at my bug out place - brother's farm.
Omaha is 60 miles away in that direction. The wind turbine goes up this winter.

Nice.
I have no plans on bugging out if the SHTF. I'll stay right here in Deland, Florida and deal with circumstances as they arise.

That's cool too. The fuckers will be out of ammo within a minute.

Roughly how much of his power can the wind turbine provide?
[–] Baba_OReilly ago
He said it's 2kw system and he can sell the surplus to the power company. He said in 10 years, it pays for itself. It'll sit on a tall hill where, I swear, the wind blows constantly.

I was betting against the author right up until about 3/4 of the way through. Humans cooperating when they are facing death; I have no idea why I thought that was a possibility for a second. As she pointed out, electricity is the only thing allowing this many humans to be alive at once. We've learned enough to surprise Malthus even without it, sure. But considering the crazy changes to weather patterns in the upcoming century, it won't really matter what we've learned; ignoring of course that we would have almost no means of accessing said information.
This was really well thought out and written, I couldn't poke a hole in it if I wanted to. I sincerely doubt that we face an immediate and total collapse scenario though, so a more likely post-apocalyptic situation would (I believe) involve smaller local powerhouses who could still, somehow, produce enough electricity (therefore resources) to gain influence and become the supply chains the author describes (think Feudal lords post Roman Empire). That said, shit is going to get so fucking ugly during the next century I doubt we ever pass the 9 billion mark. '8 billion eaters' however...that's a terrifying likely future.

The only problem I see is that he fundamentally mischaractrizies the survivors. I doubt a group as big as 200 would be able to form, and I doubt their plans include being marauders. The groups will probably be much smaller, between 10-20 people, and they will probably be mostly white in the beginning. If a group of people like this were to run into locals, they would probably either run, or try and surrender. He doesn't even mention what would happen if the large group were friendly. Which, if they are white and prepped, they may very well be. I know in doomsday scenarios the wickedness of people is supposed to come out, but most of those assumptions are based on the horrible acts that are committed daily in the world, acts primarily committed by blacks.

I haven't read it yet, but I understand the book "The Road" is supposed to be pretty good.

I have family that live in north-west Virginia...A stone-throw from WV. This has been a topic of debate for years. I keep telling them if the system fails, they're in trouble. They are less than 50 miles from Washington, DC. (loaded with niggers) I think the niggers will move like a mass of fire ants into the countryside and overwhelm the population. My cousins insist that they will be mowed down before they ever get close. I don't know. There are indeed a lot of armed White people between Washington, DC and West Virginia, but who knows how a scenario like that will play out? If the electrical grid goes down, it's Katy bar the door.

Honestly, the piece you supplied gives me the most hope against blacks in an immediate post-apocalyptic setting. They all bitch that the White man keeps them down; despite it being nonsense it should be the most unifying ideology in the country. Yet blacks just can't stop killing each other. If they had to go back to survival on their own/self-sufficiency? That week the rest of us might wait would just be so the blacks can finish killing each other before we head out. Even if they could band together somehow, they can't aim for shit and despite having guns that they stole, they aren't smart enough to have an ammo cache anywhere, and you know they would only think about rearming once they had completely run out of bullets. They'd have all been scooped up by then, leaving them begging for gibs once again. The only people they'd be a threat to are any (somehow) surviving SJW-types whom they would kill as soon as possible.
While it sounds like a nightmare I'm not looking forward to, if it meant no more blacks, I'm pretty sure I could deal.

Without electricity, the first world as we know it would collapse overnight. Jesus...imagine a world without electricity...

Millions of urbanites would literally stop in their tracks, lost and confused, because they wouldn't be able to google "SHTF, what do I do now"

I think I'd rather be dead anyway than to have to CONSTANTLY be watching my back and literally fighting for survival. A post apocalyptic world sounds miserable. Our world isn't apocalyptic now and it sucks.
