I am ex-military and I have a concealed weapons permit. I carry everywhere I am legally entitled to. I also don't drink when I am out boating.

I'm not a gun nut, or even a hunter, I just don't expect my government or anyone else to defend me.

Worst part is, the one time I've even been close to needing my weapon was when I was a in a "Weapons Prohibited" location. Some asshat that got fired was in another building next to where I was just randomly shooting. I'm locked in a room with the closest thing to a weapon being a ball point pen. I guess he didn't read the sign saying you couldn't bring a firearm onto the property.

That's the problem with "Weapons Prohibited" areas. The people who are most likely to use firearms on innocents don't obey signs, and it just inhibits citizens who might help save lives from doing so. That's what I don't get about the gun control argument, and never have. Criminals and crazies will always find a way to get a gun if they want one bad enough, where every day people most likely won't. Gun control really only takes away a form of protection, and does nothing to impact actual gun violence.
