In the late 50s, early 60s in rural Calif when I was young in the summers us teenagers worked in the fields (mostly tomatoes) with what were called "braceros". Mexican laborers imported for the harvests before machines were invented. When we broke for lunch the braceros would piss on their hands to get rid of the chemicals and dust, and bitched at us gringos for wasting drinking water to wash our hands.

Yep yep! During my mothers summers working in tobacco fields while in high skoo she couldn't help but overhear the bullshit the niggers would ook about muhdikkin to each other, it was all about the "pursuit"- there where only two that worked with her team of three other whites. Mostly she said they would cut up and slack off on the job and make high pitched "holler'n" at each other "Ewww lawwwwdy it hot out". Her crew stayed as far away and upwind as they could get.

The employers didn't care that their workers were potentially contaminating their crops?
