I've realized that starting a country is not something in my near future. It's quite far off and feels like it needs at least one stepping stone before then.
This is why I'm starting a village, of sorts. A place in the US where I will live and hopefully good, liberty-minded people will gather near by. I'm looking to do this in the next couple of years so the search space will be limited and the goals may not be perfect. But I greatly want something to happen.
I'm aiming for finding a place with reasonable cheap land, balanced from a cost, job availability, internet connectivity, homestead-ability, and comfort factors. Perhaps a 2x2 mile grid where people can buy land for $2,500 or less an acre (much of West Texas is $250 an acre), with no covenants or restrictions, and start to form a community.
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can narrow down the search space to a specific region or two so we can find a great area.
I plan to make it my primary residence but I don't wish to be completely alone out there.
