Especially in Nebraska. Do they think Nebraska is like Manhattan but in the middle of the country? Who do they think the settlers were and the farmers are?
I've noticed they react to almost any saying that mentions cotton as racist. A while back I remember seeing a kerfuffle over someone using the phrase "high cotton" which is an old Southern phrase meaning you have abundant good fortune since it was their major cash crop.
