My opinion of this generation remains unchanged. Hope Project Scorpio does well, since that's a fully backwards compatible ecosystem (Xbox 360, Xbox One), compared that to Sony's Remasterstation 4 that has uh....dude remasters. I'm far from an Xbox fan, I just want this generation to be over and Switch and Project Scorpio should push ahead instead of DUDE REMASTERS LMAO.

Remasters cater to both nostalgic owners of new consoles and people who did not own the console the game was originally made for last gen. It makes financial sense for publishers to do this. Why are you all going crazy about it? It's not like Sony loses any kind of opportunity investment - they merely peddle the shit out to some dev studio that typically works on cheap contract work like this and then pushes it to market for $40.
GAF is guilty of all kinds of shit, but supporting remasters is honestly a nothing of an event.
Sony's nostalgia strategy: what would be their next steps? - NeoGAF
"Until a couple of years or so they focused their -sometimes timed or console- exclusives on new IPs or active IPs, most of them from current or previos gen.But during the last couple of years or so, they are also appealing to the nostalgia in their big conferences to generate buzz and win the gamers' hearts by betting on classic IPs that were very popular between gamers (sometimes only for the hardcore niche) many gens ago, but were forgotten or not in a very good shape (example: Capcom needed money for SFV).In most of these cases they are exclusives, at leas console/timed/VR exclusives."

What wii shit has Nintendo redone? I know they redid Twilight Princess, but it was the GC version.
Nintendo also has a major excuse to redo anything from before the Wii U, none of it was in HD.
All that said, I wouldn't mind Dark Souls 1 for PS4, just so I could have the whole series on one system.

It was twilight princess that I was thinking of
I have both MM and OOT on my 3ds I don't have a problem with remakes, I have a problem with last gen remakes
