They didn't delay the console to stop imitators, they did it because they had too few games ready. Classic Nintendo problem.

I also think it was a bit crazy to not show it at E3. After all, were they worried about ruining the WiiU's holiday sales? There won't be any regardless! But this is one of those "wait and see" situations. It'll be easy to say how bad their strategy was once we've seen the machine. Say what you want about the WiiU, I really enjoyed mine, and that's knowing full well the gimmick wasn't very good and the third-party support was the worst it's ever been.

Agreed; NX could be good, it could be bad. Signs are pointing at anything from another N64 or another Wii U tho, and they really need something more like the N64 again; modestly successful in light of their biggest competitor, appeals to the West, pretty good Western 3rd party support, amazing 1st/2nd party games and not a generational step back in terms of power. If they could get the Japanese 3rd party support to GC levels (and caliber) as well, NX could be fantastic.

But I'm having many doubts about that.
