I agree that Manning was never hurt that bad, it was definitely an easy out to see what Osweiler could do. And a less than a 100% Manning (he's not 90% of what he was two years ago) gives the Broncos a better chance to win in the playoffs than a 100% Osweiler in the playoffs against a seasoned playoff team, but long term the Broncos are better off starting Osweiler for the rest of the season. Manning isn't the future of this team, I don't know if Osweiler is the long term solution but unless you think that the Broncos could win a championship with Manning (I don't think they can, they are not winning in NE with Osweiler or Manning) there is no point in playing him.

I might be ok with Manning taking the job back as it may reduce the price on Os. We have too many free agents this year though.

Given his lackluster play while he was playing injured, I'd say it's the easiest decision in the world to rest Manning until he's 100%. (The problem with that comes if he's not 100% until the playoffs.)

I think going with Osweiler for the rest of the year is the right thing to do, but if Manning thinks he's ready to play I can't see him or his camp not leaking something to the media. And with the loss this past weekend Denver doesn't seem to be as committed to Osweiler. It seems to have the potential of becoming messy and a distraction. \

Honestly I think they'd be better off going with Osweiler too.

But part of me if hoping for a 1992 Joe Montana situation, where it came down to the last game of the season (against the Lions iirc) and Steve Young had cemented himself as the new starter, but Joe came in during that game so he would have one more game as a 49er. For Manning it's because I really want him to end up breaking the career QB wins tie with Brett Favre. (I'm just worried that if Manning is done as a Bronco, he's done in the NFL.)

Start or sit, Manning being active has to cause problems for the Broncos.
