Honestly, Jared Allen was the last roster member I expected to be traded. Basically next year the Bears are going to draft as many new players as they can, likely fire the coaching staff and start from scratch.

That said, they have a lot of strong players on the team that will be the bricks for a new foundation, hopefully they don't trade them all away first.

Scoring 0 points is a real problem, if your defense sucks you at least need an offense that can put points on the board.

Frankly they should have done this last year when they were horrible. I think that they started last year, you'll see it continuing this year and next year as well and then expect them to come on strong in 2017.

They are counting their apples on Kevin white, long and Fuller.

Alshon is not that much older. And they won't get enough in a trade to justify getting rid of him. Not with his recent injury history.

Jeffery? That would be an odd move seeing how he's 25 and his trade value is probably super low right now. Forte I would understand.

Also heard some rumors this has something to do with getting a top 5 pick to acquire the QB from CAL

Draft talk in October? Calling bullshit on that.

Why would they trade Jefferey? That seems crazy, he should be one of the pieces to start the rebuild around.

Simple. Jeffery will go to a team that will win now and still pay decent. His rookie contract is coming to an end. You really think he will stay with a rebuild team?

Yeah, I do think he will stay. He'll be restricted FA and they can use the franchise, so his options are already limited. And it's the NFL, not MLB. Teams can rebuild in 2-3 years. I just don't see them dumping Jefferey, he's too good and too young for a rebuilding team to give up.

Forte and Bennett are the only players I could see being traded (Cutler, too, if somebody wanted to take on his contract). Jeffery stays. He's young and even if he doesn't get a new contract they can franchise him for the next 2 years. Bears aren't as terrible as everyone seems to think. They were 8th in total yards on offense before Cutler went down. They'll win 5 or 6 games this year, get a top 5 pick, and then really start the rebuild. This team is two years away at least before we can start thinking playoffs.

Read commments below. They dont want to invest on Alshon if he is not going to stick around. The bears got kevin white. You wouldnt say he would leave to the Patriots or packers? I am a bears fan too. I am trying to be realistic.

That's a good point. Hard to let Alshon walk before we see White in action. For me, nothing is sacred, though. If somebody wants to trade for Alshon, pull the trigger.

This has happened with teams before, regardless of the talent if the guys you have aren't winning then it's probably time to move in and try something different. Plus it'll give these players a chance to shine with a new team. This could be best for all involved in the long run.

Yeah they looked at their start, then over at Green Bay and saw they have no chance this year, might as well start to position yourself to draft well next year to start rebuilding
