ah-ha mushroom madness, fun.

i had the same mysterious lil'dudes poke out of some of my houseplants too, doesn't hurt them it seems but it is quite shocking to find, they would die off then reappear and die again then after i forgot about it, boom hello again... hard to get rid of really, good thing they are so pretty

That's them! They are really pretty.

I think mushrooms in general are good for the soil. They help break down the wood chips and compost.

Actually, even without seeing them mature, I think I IDed them with Mushrooms Demystified. Theres a Lepiota variety called the Yellow Parasol or Flower-Pot Parasol that grows in flower pots, green houses, and planter boxes. I found this picture in a google image search of Lepiota lutea.

They're poisonous. Bummer. Still good looking, though.

The plants are dwindling, but it used to look like this. I think they have an 18" diameter. Costco, 14.99, but I had to drill holes in the bottom myself.
