The Dutch royal couple exited the plane and was delighted to meet the welcoming committee. King Willem Alexander greeted the president and Minister warmly. He slapped the President friendly on the back.

"Show me the way to the best Rum and Cigar bar proper office for some very heavy drinking sessions important diplomatic discussions" - King Willem Alexander

Queen Maxima greeted both gallantly and stepped up to the minister. She motioned to the Dutch delegates. "Senor, Where can we talk?"

The Dutch would like to offer/discuss

  • An open trade agreement (including Aruba, Curacao and Suriname)

  • 10 annual scholarships to Technical University Delft for the gifted of the next Cuban generation.

  • A team of agricultural experts to assess and assist Cuban agricultural sector.

  • Anything the Cubans would like to discuss.

Dutch King Willem Alexander was very much in his element. A glass of rum in one hand and a big fat cigar in another he was grinning ear to ear. The tunes where swinging and the view was especially nice. President Cortez seemed to be a fine drinking companion and kept up with the tempo for now. The group went from bar to bar and deeper into the Havana Nightlife. Many journalists reporting on the event are starting to get distracted and joining the drinking, causing a heavy traffic congestion in Downtown Havana. This on its turn draws even more crowds towards the area. Reports are starting to become blurry and far apart. Downtown Havana seems to slowly turn into a massive block-party, Cubana Style!

Before heading into Havana to join the King and President for a night of dancing, Queen Maxima has a few more points.

  • We are glad to have resolved the trade agreement.

  • The student scholarships are meant to increase Cuban knowledge as these students would return to Cuba after one year. They would start to integrate protocols and knowledge in Cuban institutions. (slight increase of tech) We ask you to reconsider this gesture as we would like to help your countries development.

  • A team of Dutch agricultural experts will be sent to Havana shortly. They will begin to assist and assess current structures and will present their report in a few months.

  • We would be happy to discuss joint oil exploration possibilities and we can assure Royal Dutch Shell has safety and efficiency as its main priorities and is a specialist in the energy field.
