I remember those days, but we had steam cats. Standing on the catwalk making sure no one went onto the flight deck and watching hour after hour after hour of that. Tug grabs it and drags it back for the crane to bring back up. Are ABEs going to operate and maintain that system or is it going to EMs / ETs?

i suppose it would fall under the talk of an ABE - except there is no steam anywhere on the ship, all electrical, so they just train for the new equipment. the flight deck elevator is electromagnetic also, no cables, carries twice the weight. can launch an aircraft every 45 seconds - ship requires 500 less crewmen also.

all i'm wondering is if they picked up the little car thingy or did they let it drown? =(

It floats. Or it used to. Tug grabs it and a crane picks it up. If you watch, there's a tug out there in the vid. It starts to move once it hits the water. Didn't pay attention to the timestamp.
