The problem in it is what you'll see when you look at Japan and Otaku culture. Some are becoming detached from the reality of it.
I'm all for it but I can see the problems with it.
Actually you know... fuck it. Bring it on. Let the fat fucks, r9k autists, and socially broken live in their basements fucking robots. They aren't helping anything anyway.

You're going to have to provide more context on this. So far, I've seen a culture of disillusioned workhorse men that are tired of working their fingers to the bone as company-men so their women can live like welfare queens. These men did a simple cost-benefit analysis on women and decided to drop five figures on a non-living thing that looks like a woman.
More or less my take, except that it's still the smart move for even well-adjusted men, IMO.
Another facet of men's rejection of women, IMO. Why do more than you have to for a system that is pretty much in existence to fuck you out of money you work hard for in order to pay for some bitch with 8 kids and no job?
I posit that doing more is only really admirable when your money is under-the-table, or you make enough with little enough effort that the taxes you pay that the government uses on bullshit won't bother you.

The Otaku nonsense is basically guys too obsessed with anime they try to carry on relationships with pillows themed in their favorite anime waifu. Try to marry robots and in general seem to reject societal norms. Different end of the spectrum from 3rd wave feminism.
Edit: I'm all for rejecting societal norms in the right context but when it starts to separate yourself from society to where you're not really contributing anything I think it could be a downside.
