A few years ago, I used to practice zazen by sitting on a zafu and focusing on my breathing. I would try to keep my eyes half open and looking downward a bit while staring at a wall. I'd try to keep my back erect and my hands in my lap in front of me. No music or anything, just focusing on my breathing.

Today I do basically the same thing except that I sit in a chair and keep my eyes focused on the floor in front of me. I tend to sit for 15-20 minutes at a time and I'd like to do this regularly, but in reality I don't usually do it more than once or twice a week.

I do zazen as well, I'm a big fan of the technique described in "Opening the Hand of Thought" that involves awareness of sitting posture.

I usually do it a few times a week for about 15-30 minutes. Its amazing how much it affects the rest of my day for being such a short practice, I feel much calmer and more focused when I'm doing it regularly.
