TIL is the worst. I posted probably a half dozen things there over my years on reddit, and only 1-2 ever made it past the moderation.

I posted that Janay Palmer was charged with the same crimes as Ray Rice, about 4 months after their fight and it was removed as it was "news". 4 months old and it was news.

Can confirm, I scour undelete a lot, TIL mods like to censor things a lot. Pretty much anything political or puts the US or a major corporation in a bad light. For example there are 7 on the front of undelete right now.

Nafeez Ahmed is a hack. Not to be confrontational, but his writing and investigative ability is way below par. Both of the articles in that series are just him barking at shadows. The linkages he makes are tenuous at best and he builds them up carelessly, trying to cope with his lack of good evidence by overwhelming the readers with a cloud of maybes. There is a good reason he has been fired from every journalistic outfit he has worked for and now is on Patreon- he draws conclusions that are simply not supportable by his facts. Christopher Hitchens has a great comment on him- "Mr Ahmed on inspection proved to be a risible individual wedded to half-baked conspiracy-mongering, his “Institute” a one-room sideshow in the English seaside town of Brighton, and his publisher an outfit called Media Monitors Network in association with Tree of Life, whose now deceased website used to offer advice on the ever awkward question of self-publishing."
